Collects From Hell (1991 Kitchen Sink) #1-11. From Hell features the story of Jack the Ripper, the most infamous serial murderer of all time. Alan Moore names Dr. Gull as the villain and creates the most compelling and terrifying psychological study ever undertaken. Together with artist Eddie Campbell, all of the conspiracies and cover-ups are considered and bound together in this vortex of terror. The film based on the book - released by 20th Century Fox, starring Johnny Depp & Heather Graham, and directed by The Hughes Brothers - has brought a bonanza of media attention to the book that is regarded as one of the most significant graphic novels ever published. A gripping, crime noir, modern masterpiece of historical fiction. Hardcover, 572 pages, B&W.
This book is the limited signed hardcover edition of 1000 published in December 1999 by Graphitti Designs. It begins with an exclusive illustration signed by both the artist. Note that all the pages (circa 575) are individually numbered by the hand of Eddie Campbell (but reproduced as such of course). All the introduction pages from the original comics are reprinted here.
Here is the exact content of my "regular" limited edition of the book:
- the prologue,
- the fourteenth chapters,
- the epilogue,
- maps of London,
- the Appendix,
- "Dance of the gull catchers" as Appendix II.
