Doom y Iron Lad rescatan a Thor de prisión en Asgard y antes de irse, van a buscar su martillo. Al teletransportarse, también se llevan a Lady Sif, quien estaba a cargo de la custodia de él. También tienen al Captain America congelado, pero aún no saben cómo sacarlo del hielo. La misión para la cual sumaron a Thor, es ir a buscar objetos que The Maker (quien está encerrado en un domo) ha coleccionado para evitar la creación de superhéroes en este universo. Tony y Doom pretenden usarlos para ir volviendo a la normalidad. El grupo de poderosos que gobierna el mundo planea un ataque a New York, usando un satélite de Stane/Stark y así culpar a Tony.
