Topo is a cyberpunk: a computer hacker who’s more at home with his mind plugged directly into a computer network than he is in the real world. He has been plugged in for days now, his mind running free while his body is watched over by a cyborg named Alma Matrix.
This second book of Scott Rockwell’s Cyberpunk delves deeper into the troubled world of the computerized future. In the author’s words, the first book was about power thwarted by love. This book is about love thwarted by power. In Topo’s case, that means the power to lose himself entirely in cyberspace, even while his girlfriend Juno reveals that she’s pregnant.
