La serie - 3 salió a la par que el nº 505 de la Serie - 2 de la colección de Novaro Serie Aguila, es por ello que se empezaron a diferenciar las series de superman a partir de ese nº con un "2-" (para la serie Agulia) y un "3-" (para la serie Avestruz) delante del número del cómic.

Los 56 primeros números de la Serie Avestruz son reimpresiones de cómics publicados por Novaro en la serie 1 (Ediciones Recreativas) mayoritariamente.
