Plot

On their journey to the center of the bowl-shaped world, Nexus, Judah and Badger meet an old friend, and learn that Ashram, the creature they have come to this world to find, has been taken prisoner by the warlord Sklar.

In the backup tale, Judah is wounded in battle and he's nursed back to health by a family that does not believe in fighting. Unfortunately, the raiding party the wounded Judah doesn't care what the family believes. By Roger Salick and Tom Dougherty.
