Horror-mask-wearing Mr. Macabre is back, stealing oil from pipelines to hinder America's war effort. (This story opens with Captain Marvel Jr. being paged by a bellhop, just like in the classic ads.) A modern-day Pied Piper mesmerizes children, but this one is working for the Nazis. As Freddy tries to shut down Captain Nazi's black market in stolen British goods, he's aided by a mysterious phantom who resembles Sherlock Holmes. Plus a teaser ad for Mary Marvel that just shows her silhouette alongside the Captains Marvel.
