Hallucinations threaten Ember's tribe.

Pike adopts a cat, and Ember meets this linx-like creature named tuftcat, who grows to be big enough to ride in later issues.

Most of the Wolfriders, being dog-lovers hate the cat and want to kill it or at least reject it from the whole of their family. Leetah asks them what the difference would be for adopting Tuftcat if it were a dog. This causes all of the elves to have visions of their most horrible nightmares, and it becomes obvious that Winnowill's evil scheming is becoming active on world of two moons once again. She uses Dewshine's soulname to activate her dark powers.

This is the issue where Moonshade tells of her mother Crescent.
