Oakland artist Chris Lindig, born in 1974, paints and draws an ongoing narrative of a strange world of “heavy metal organized crime hillbillies and terrorists on a rampage through America”. Lindig fills his paintings and drawings with drug lords, gurus, heavy metal freaks, subservient women, death and an outsider’s disdain for social conformity. He developed a unique style of combining heavy metal or gangster-like lettering with highly stylized, cryptic and darkly humorous scenarios. Chris Lindig has also designed numerous skateboard graphics and has been very active in the San Francisco graffiti community.
