This magnificent book explains briefly how the Look and Learn picture library came into being. But its main purpose is to showcase 5,000 illustrations, chosen from over 500,000 in our collection. These are presented over 448 pages in a format designed to make the book enjoyable to read, with the qualities of the individual illustrations enhanced by random juxtaposition. The print quality is outstanding because we have used stochastic (FM) screening, an expensive technology which permits stunning rendition of colour and detail.
The Pictorial Museum provides total immersion in the wonderful world of popular illustration. Most of the images chosen will be unfamiliar even to specialists in the field.
