The new comicbook publisher TKO Studios starts its line-up with, among others, Goodnight Paradise. The story focuses on Eddie, a homeless man living in Venice, California. He has some friends, like his drinking buddies, and sometimes finds his way around town but barely leaves this particular part of the beach. Things radically change after he discovers the body of a young girl and a dog in the dumpster. Who is behind the murder and how can this girl be connected to some dubious guys? The police seem barely interested in uncovering the truth, so it is up to Eddie to find out what happened.

Noir tale placed on Dogtown, CA in which Dysart explores loneliness by Quiñones' proactivity. Eddie is the archetypal war veteran: quite an abandoned, broken and forgotten man (both, in society and with his relatives). But he found a corpse, so this changed everything to him. All the way from darkness, our man's mindset towards investigation was truly a gripping premise. Scenery, actors and dialogues captured the "Flowers In The Dirt" (after McCartney) mood. You can see how that grimmy realism affects everyone apart from EQ. Joshua's storytelling seeks not only Justice. But Salvation. Light. On the graphic side, Ponticelli & Brusco deliver some remarkable panels. Specially when exposing emotional gaps (street life, gentrification, helplessness). Altogether, pencils and palette set the tone right. I already knew Giulia and loved her colour application. She polished drawings up so Alberto style looked slick. To sum up, another binge-released appealing TKO effort. #AboutBiasedHumanEmpathy
