This collection brings together some of Jean Giraud's more rare and fanciful works. Among them are some of the first stories he published under his pseudonym Moebius, which represented his desire to branch out and explore new styles and themes.

His offbeat satires were inspired by early MAD Magazine, and it was Giraud's own erotic tales which later inspired the iconoclastic Robert Crumb. This book spans thirty years of Moebius's career, from his first forays into science fiction to his short works in Metal Hurlant and its American counterpart, Heavy Metal.

Also included are rare glimpses of his personal sketchbook and a short story from the highly imaginative and influential Incal series, which he illustrated for writer Alejandro Jodorowsky, and from which the film The Fifth Element took its stylistic inspiration.

These pieces span the breadth and depth of Giraud's career, and also give a rare glimpse to his irreverent satirical visions
