As a comic book collector, it is amazing the sheer numbers of stories I own. If every periodical issue of a comic is one story, which in a way they are, I have upwards of 4 thousand different stories packed up in my little storage unit on Vine street, and another thousand in another on 110th street. So is it at all surprising that I forget I have one or two? Welp, long story short I’ve been jonesing to read this story for years but could never find the second issue. Ehhhh I already had it. This is truly one of the best film adaptations I’ve ever read. For one thing they don’t draw The movie stars in, which I hate, and it’s loose! It is not beholden to the film, rigidly hitting every beat, feeling more like a grouping of badly drawn storyboards. No, this feels like a comic, and an interesting one at that. Some great Angles and “jump cuts” It does feel like it’s done by non-comic people, but I kinda like that about it.
