Kind of Aaron's "The (Good) Old Testament" Director's Cut. The writer delivers nothing but a "What If"-esque story involving the everlasting Cain, who craves for incessantly dying. However he's The Ultimate Killer™, here lives the "hard(est)" way of the hero. Straight, raw and bloody. Jason (re)creates a "world" full of filth and depravation in which Noah is an inky and harsh counterpart to Abel's brother. Despite this rotten premise, love can save it all... At last. Plausibly his best artwork made, Guéra's illustration style is ideal for the narrative: action-packaged and wild (as demanded). I extremely liked his transitions and well-focused creatures and settings. Perfectly applied by Brusco, her detailed colours match pencilling and plot as a whole. Regarding this BD-like HC, IMAGE nailed it: The Oversized Prevails!! If you're open-minded (enough) to read violent, alternate stuff based on a religious ground, this first arc will be interesting. I'll get "The Virgin Brides" ASAP.
