While I haven't read the next issues yet, this one feels like the perfect pre-climax, packed with relentless action from start to finish. I enjoyed this issue so much that I can't wait for the finale. This saga isn't just a high point for O'Neil; it’s a masterclass in redefining Batman's narrative structure for a more mature era. The issue sets the stage brilliantly, especially with the constant tension of 'double agents' whenever Talia is on the scene. This chapter is also vital for introducing the Lazarus Pit, a mystical element that adds a dark, gothic layer to the Al Ghul mythos. Neal Adams' art is at its peak here, making every panel of Batman’s fighting and detective skills feel dynamic and alive. Batman is definitely back to being the world's greatest detective and a formidable warrior.
