Argumento

Ember - Blood of Eleven Chiefs - has been given the task of keeping her Wolfriders and "the Way" safe and hidden from harm. Further and further she takes her little tribe from the battle her father fights, stranger and stranger are the challenges she must face in her own quest.

When the band discovers a cave-riddled outcropping, their search for a new Holt is over. The elements have even given them a stony guardian and so Howling Rock becomes home.

But the elves are not alone. Unnoticed, unscented, a new elf takes the band completely unaware. His name is Teir, and while he seems friendly enough, he radiates mystery. He can not - or will not - say where he is from, or who his people are. His skill at handling even the Wolfriders' wolves is nothing short of amazing, a talent that disturbs Skywise greatly. The stargazer vows to get to the bottom of the mystery - but even his wolf Timmain succumbs to the newcomer's charm...
